GOODYBE BRICK WINTER SKIN

When the leaves fall from the trees, gingerbread cookies and cinnamon stars appear on the supermarket shelf and the winter coat is taken out of the closet, then it is time to switch to "winter" skin care. The sinking temperatures are detrimental to our skin, but there are a number of tips and tricks on how we can still get through the cold season of the year radiant.

Cold affects the skin
If it gets colder outside, the skin can quickly become pale and cracked or prone to flaking.

The reason? The cold produces less fat in the sebum glands. Since the vessels also shrink, the blood supply to the skin is poor.

The result? The protective function of the skin is reduced and it becomes more susceptible to external influences. The temperature differences between heated interiors and the icy wind on the street are an additional burden on the skin.

The solution? The skin needs plenty of moisture.

Pay attention to individual needs
There is no one-size-fits-all recipe for perfect winter care because the skin is affected by the cold to different degrees. If you are unsure, ask a dermatologist or beautician which care routine is right for you.

But one thing applies to everyone: Those who rely on intensive moisturizing care in the morning and in the evening support the natural protective function and can prevent rough skin. In winter, the skin can be given a little more time and a little richer care.

The basics of winter skin care
What care for what
In winter, use pH-neutral soaps and washing gels (e.g. [W] ASH AWAY Purifying Gel Cleanser) and make sure that the water is not too hot so as not to dry out the skin even further. Moisturizers should definitely be applied after showering. The lips look forward to natural and rich care, e.g. based on beeswax or shea butter (e.g. SHE [A] RAW - enriched shea cream), and it is best to apply a moisturizing lotion to your hands several times a day.

UV protection
You should never do without sun protection, even in winter. It is an important factor in the prevention of skin cancer and the early signs of aging.

Amount
Do not use too much cream or gel, or the skin may be overwhelmed with the absorption. Instead, it is better to apply less care and apply more cream if necessary.

Ingredients
Fatty creams are ideal in winter. This applies equally to the face and body. Especially if your skin is prone to blemishes, you should not do without the usual cleaning and care of your face in winter and not overwhelm your skin with too many new ingredients.

In general, products with urea or glycerine are ideal because they provide a lot of moisture. In winter, however, it is particularly important not to additionally impair the protective function of the skin through an excess of dyes and fragrances or even alcohol in the care. So rely on products that, like our creams, contain less than 1% fragrances.

It's time for special treatments
Shorter and less intense sun exposure not only has disadvantages. This is the perfect time for certain facial treatments. Use the winter months for:

You can also support your skin with a healthy diet, sufficient fluid intake and happiness hormones that are released during exercise, for example. Moisturizing masks for the face and hair, oil baths for the hands and facials to support the body's own protective function are now ideal.
