YOU DESERVE IT! - View New Year's resolutions as self-care and make them easier to implement

It's mid-February and therefore the perfect time to review the first few weeks of the year. Have you achieved your New Year's resolutions so far or are you finding it difficult to eat healthier, exercise more or spend more time in nature? Yes? Then you are like most of us. Because studies show that only very few actually manage to realize their resolutions. We'll show you how it can still work in 2022.

be specific
In the end, resolutions are nothing more than goals. And these must be as specific as possible so that they can be implemented in the best possible way. So if you want to do something good for yourself in 2020 by changing something here and there, then you should approach the whole thing wisely. If we take sport as an example, you should think carefully about what kind of sport you want to do, how often per week and by when you want to do what exactly. It might sound something like this: "I want to go jogging three times a week after work and in three months I can do 10 km straight".

It is about you
It is often the case that resolutions arise from the wrong motives. There are agreements with girlfriends, social pressure or the desire to please someone. All this is not bad per se, but who then uses the respective resolutions? When it comes to perseverance, there is always some kind of obligation to others in that case. New routines should benefit you! Resolutions - whether for the New Year or whenever - are about self-care, i.e. solely about you! It is therefore important to formulate your resolutions in such a way that your individual advantage emerges from them. You should take a close look at the attractive benefits for yourself. For our exercise example, this could go something like this: “If I go jogging XNUMX times a week, I will have more energy, be happier overall thanks to endorphins, have a healthier body from regular exercise, and have more radiant skin from the fresh air.” That sounds wonderful!

Reflect regularly
If it hasn't worked out for you with more self-care so far this year, that's no reason to throw away your nerves. Reframe your goals, be more specific, and see what benefits you get from sticking to your resolutions. We also encourage you to do a little reflection each week. A look at what you have done or missed in the past week gives you a good starting point for planning the coming week. There is no shame in adapting the way to the goal. As long as you stay true to yourself and self-care comes first in all your decisions, anything goes.
You can use all of these points directly Adelaide's digital planner implement in order to approach your everyday life in a more relaxed, structured and clear-headed manner and to achieve your daily, monthly and annual goals guaranteed (Click here).
